DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to welcome Clint Flack and Annie Halliday from
  the Mercer Museum\, part of the Bucks County Historical Society and hom
 e to one of the region’s most significant collections documenting everyd
 ay life in Bucks County and the Delaware Valley. Their work brings toget
 her material culture and local stories to help visitors understand how n
 ational events shaped daily life in our own communities.\nIn this engagi
 ng program\, they explore tavern culture in Revolutionary era Bucks Coun
 ty through the story of the infamous Doan Gang.  The program examines ho
 w taverns supported local economies and were critical to the spread of n
 ews and revolutionary ideas\, making them the perfect gathering places f
 or members of the Doan Gang.  Tavern operator Augustine Willet\, who cro
 ssed the Delaware with Washington’s army\, will be highlighted. After th
